Action for Biloxi

The Mission Statement and Resolution are vital to Livingston CARES because they establish our goal and purpose of aiding communities in humanitarian projects and disaster relief and recovery. The Resolution was crafted by the Livingston County Board of Supervisors as a formal offer of assistance to the Harrison County, Mississippi community.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of Livingston County CARES is to help communities and individuals locally, regionally, statewide, nationwide, and globally in humanitarian projects, including disaster relief and recovery efforts. RESOLUTION NO. 2005- SUPPORTING LIVINGSTON CARES

WHEREAS, our fellow citizens in Harrison County, Mississippi suffered the destruction of property and the interruption of services necessary to the health and happiness of their communities, as a result of the hurricanes named Katrina and Rita; and

WHEREAS, the people of Livingston County, New York stand united in their desire to assist the citizens of Harrison County in the struggle to restore the fullness of community life; and

WHEREAS, we stand in admiration of their courage; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Livingston County Board of Supervisors offers its support and encouragement to the coalition of agencies and organizations in our County, which has come to be known as Livingston Cares; and it is further

RESOLVED, that this initiative seeks to establish a long-term friendship with the people of Harrison County matching resources to needs with the goal of providing appropriate help and assistance in the work of rebuilding and seeking opportunities to celebrate the cultural richness of our respective communities.
